Configuration Equipment Damage Types Damage Types view Equipment Damage Type form

The Equipment Damage Type form enables you to add and edit equipment damage types. Use this form to manually add damage types or use the Actions Copy Reference Set (on page 1) option to copy damage types defined in an existing entity set.

To add or edit an equipment damage type:

  1. In the ID field, enter an ID that uniquely identifies the equipment damage type, such as dent or DT (the ISO damage type code for dent).

You cannot add a damage type that matches an existing damage type for the same equipment class. But you can add the same damage type for a different equipment class, such as a chassis.

For more information on ISO damage type codes for freight containers, go to http://www.iso.ch/iso/en/CatalogueDetailPage.CatalogueDetail?CSNUMBER=20455.

Depending on how many damage codes you want displayed in XPS, we recommend that you use no more than 4 characters in the ID field to identify the damage type in SPARCS N4. For more information, see Add damages (on page 1).

  1. In the Description field, enter a short description for the equipment damage type.

  2. From the Equipment Class drop-down list, select the equipment class such as Container, Chassis, or Accessory for the equipment damage type.

Navis recommends using the Dummy equipment class only when creating an equipment type of this class in the Equipment Type form. Although, the Dummy equipment class will be visible in the Equipment Class drop-down list in equipment related forms, it must not be used.

  1. Click Save.
